I've had a great reluctance toward growing food. Don't know why, but I finally was shamed into starting a veg garden by my stepson Dennis when he returned from the Peace Corp. Of course, it had to be attractive ... I'm a designer after all. What I found over the years is that I enjoy growing the things I like to eat fresh - peas, greens, beans, and yes tomatoes although I've just about given that up (can you say blight?). I'm not going to put things up and I'm not going to keep good records about seeding times and harvests. I'm just not into it that much. But I do like eating fresh from the garden and I use no pesticides, so I can just pick a bean or pea and eat it in the garden. Nuthin' bettah!
